Drawing & Painting I is a full year 5 credit art course. This course will allow students to explore and experiment with a variety of drawing and painting media including, pencil, colored pencil, pastels, markers, relief printmaking, acrylic paints and watercolor paints. Students will learn different techniques for each medium and explore ways to create different effects. Through out the year students will build a visual vocabulary of artists, art movements and their impact on society and culture as it pertains to our class projects. Students will also establish criteria by which to critically evaluate a variety of artworks. We will work to create a series of works that could be used in a visual arts portfolio.
Student work is displayed throughout the school and each student will have work on exhibit at our annual high school art show. Updates on projects and class activities can be found on the blog.
