March is our month to celebrate. Each March, here at the high school, we create a special Youth Art Month project. This year we are celebrating by creating a large installation project using hundreds of hands that have been drawn, painted, photographed and collaged. Our theme this year is "You are one of a kind". My students used their hand or hands as inspiration to create an 8" x 8" artwork that celebrates who they are. It was amazing to see each student taking part in project in their own way. During the coming weeks we will be putting them all together and displaying them in the g-wing hallway.
"The arts celebrate multiple perspectives. One of their large lessons is that there are many ways to see and interpret the world."
