In between all of our large projects we stop and take an "art stretch" in our journals. Using a fortune cookie as our inspiration, Drawing & Painting II students worked from observation to complete these small sketches. They used water soluble graphite pencils to create the values and textures. When they were done drawing everyone eagerly cracked open their cookie to discover their fortune and shared it with the class. Using their drawings, the fortune and patterned papers, they created an homage to their fortune in their journals.
"The arts celebrate multiple perspectives. One of their large lessons is that there are many ways to see and interpret the world."
