It is week 2 of our Youth Art Month Celebration. We have started to hang up some of the hands students have created. Last week we invited all the teachers from the high school to participate by having their students create a hand to be added to our mural. The response was tremendous. Many teachers asked to participate with more than one class and many teachers made cross curricular connections using our theme. For instance, in biology students are learning about DNA and what makes them unique. We provided kits and a lesson plan for teachers who were just excited to participate.
"The arts celebrate multiple perspectives. One of their large lessons is that there are many ways to see and interpret the world."
