Last week as we were working in class in our art journals/sketchbooks I was inspired to dust off my sketchbook and get to work. Your sketchbook or art journal is great place to show your visual thinking, to share what inspires you, explore the world around you or to simply document your ideas. Colleges and universities will almost always ask to see your sketchbook upon college admission. What are they looking for? Well, they want to know how you think, solve problems, explore solutions, and develop a final product. So... open your sketchbook or journal and get to work. Paint, draw, collage, glue, layer, mix, with anything you have. Draw what is in front of you, record a moment, collage together photos from a trip, make a list....
Email me your latest sketchbook/journal work and I will add it to this post.
"The arts celebrate multiple perspectives. One of their large lessons is that there are many ways to see and interpret the world."
