There is just something really cool and engaging about spraying a spray can for the first time! Drawing & Painting II students have been working on creating a spray paint self portrait. They created stencils using photoshop and original photos they have taken. Many students had the opportunity to use their go to selfie. After carefully cutting their stencils they use spray paint and bin of old stencils I had to create a layered effect. Of course we had a healthy discussion on where and when to use spray paint. However, the weather had other ideas. It is so humid that the paint would not dry. We will give it another try tomorrow and hopefully get the last layer on using their custom stencils and text. Pretty cool, right?
