The past two days I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Art Educators of New Jersey convention. Not only was I able to listen to fantastic speakers, attend workshops, but I was a presenter as well. Mrs. Lentini-Pombrio and I taught other art teachers, from around the state, how to make a "squash" book. After sharing several different versions and uses of the book form, each participant created a custom accordion style book using a wide variety of art media. Participants left with a completed squash book, several templates, and project samples so that they could immediately incorporate them into their curriculum. This flexible book form was a big hit!
