"Hello all! Hope you guys are loving high school and enjoying it to the max! College is SUPER different. It has it's perks and its downsides. It is a lot of work that I'm pretty sure you guys all expect. It's not the same babying you receive in high school though. You are responsible for everything!!! Making sure you get to class on time so you don't miss any information and making sure you do your work! You don't want that GPA to drop. No slacking either. If you know you have class be prepared. It is a lot of work but you are paying for it, remember that. It's fun having the freedom though. You choose the classes and times! You can hang out on campus and meet new people. Definitely take advantage of all the resources given to you because there is A LOT. A lot of libraries, studying areas, etc. If you look for the help you will find it , it won't come for you. As far as majoring in art if that's what you want to try out, Ms. Amme is preparing you just right! They want you to think about your artwork as much as you can , it's not easy. It's not like you can just whip up a painting the night before. You will have to work on it sometime and change a lot of it. You do meet great people in art school though. I attend Mason Gross and the art environment is super. You're not afraid to be your own or get judged for your work.Creativity is what matters. Listen to what Ms. Amme says because it has all been true. You will have all nighters and you will be spending more than a week on your paintings. It will be hectic but fun. It's definitely a big change from high school. But I love it :)! Take advantage of every second and opportunity given to you! It will make a huge difference. "-Natalia
This week I have a a 2015 PHS graduate sharing her thoughts about her first semester at college as our guest blogger.
"The arts celebrate multiple perspectives. One of their large lessons is that there are many ways to see and interpret the world."
