Get out and see art in person
There are so many great museums, galleries and exhibitions right in our area. You can go to the Zimmerli Museum at Rutgers or the Princeton Art Museum. Kelan University in Elizabeth, Aljira center for the Arts In Newark exhibits different artists each month. Of course you can take a trip into NYC or Philadelphia and visit many different major museums or small galleries. Many of these are free! There is nothing like seeing a sculpture or painting in person. The size, scale and texture are often hard to appreciate in a photo..so get out there and see some art!

Learn something new
Never used markers and colored pencils together? Give it a go.... try something new. Take a class outside of school and learn a new technique or medium that you have never tried before. There are many programs that are local or you could travel a bit a take classes in NYC or Philadelphia. This is by far, one of my most favorite things to do. As a teacher, I spend so much of my creative energies on teaching and I forget what it is like to be a student. So, this is at the top of my list for 2015!
