Drawing & Painting I students have started their unit on color theory. After looking at how we see color and the basics of the color wheel, we are working on creating a radial design with 12 sections/wedges. In each wedge we will be learning how to create 5 values of each hue on the color wheel using colored pencil, 2 tints, 2 shades and the pure hue. Students are learning which pencil to put first, how much pressure to apply, and starting to consider principles of design like contrast, rhythm and emphasis.
