Three PHS students, Tatiana , Aliyah , and Diamond were selected from more than 100 entries for participation in the 2013 New Jersey Performing Arts Center Winter Arts Exhibit. The event is sponsored by the Art Educators of New Jersey, and the winning artwork will be displayed at NJPAC through next month. Congratulations!
So today was snowy, wet and wintery. But two of my students made it brighter by showing me these cool gloves they just got. How awesome art they? Yes, printed on the fingers it says "MAKE ART!" Not only do they keep you warm but they promote the arts. It just doesn't get any better than that.
Trompe L'oeil is a french term that means "to trick the eye". Drawing & Painting II students created these amazing mixed media trompe l'oeils works using marker, colored pencil, watercolor and paint. Students worked from observation to create the elements within the picture and worked to make them as realistic as possible.
