I gave my AP class one last challenge... illustrate the game of rock, paper, scissors. After a walk outside to gather rocks students began to dream up these wild ways in which the game could be played out. The media was open to the students and each student sketched out their ideas first to work out composition. Can you tell who wins in each piece?
Just in time for summer! Students turned ordinary garden flamingos into unexpected works of art. Final Exams start this Friday June 13, 2014. Exams are 2 hours each and it is a half day.
Here is the schedule:
Remember if you miss an exam you must contact your grade level administrator and teacher immediately to seek approval for the make up. Congratulations to AP Art Drawing student, Aliyah, for having her work accepted into the TCNJ 2014 K-12 Juried Student Art Exhibit: Art, Innovation and Ideas. Her work will be on view in the TCNJ Art Gallery for the month of June. The show was juried by various artists including Faith Ringold. The opening reception was a wonderful event honoring all of the students selected for the exhibit and their teachers.
AP Art Drawing student, Diamond, recently placed in two art separate art competitions. She won 3rd Place in the Annual Teen Media Contest "Child Support is More Than Just Money" and she won an Honorable Mention in the Peace Islands Institute Art and Essay competition. Her work will be reproduced on a Calender for the State Department of Human Services as part of their ongoing campaign. Congratulations!
