Drawing & Painting I students just finished up their linoleum print projects. Each student used a 5" x 7" block of linoleum to create a series of relief prints. Students chose their own color schemes, compositions and cropped comic images to use. Some students used their photographs as reference to create the design.
Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the Art Administrators of NJ Annual Emerging Artist High School Exhibit at Kean University. This year I entered the work from my student Priyanka (above). Congratulations! Her colored pencil and acrylic portrait won a Merit Award. She is among the 10 award winners that will go on to the next round of competition by submitting their portfolios for review. I look forward to this event each year as it demonstrates the wide range of artistic experiences that the students from all around New Jersey are experiencing through their visual arts programs. Special thanks to all of the AANJ members that make this show possible each year.
